KONE, a leading provider of lifts and escalators around the world, recently conducted research on how people’s use of elevators has changed since the onset of Covid-19 in early 2020. These numbers may vary depending on the type of building, its capacity and its location.
The research also highlighted the fact that with increased urbanisation and a growing population within cities, there is an increasing need for more efficient elevator systems to meet the demands of higher passenger flow. To address this, KONE has developed several solutions that focus on sustainability, safety and efficiency. With these solutions, KONE is helping to create smarter, more sustainable elevator systems for the future.
Alpha Grid was tasked to visualise this research in the form of an immersive article.
We started out by mining the data supplied by KONE, defining a creative concept for the article and writing a script. The challenge was finding the story within this significant amount of data, which we did by carefully picking out the data that best fit our narrative and conducting secondary research to provide context.
This was followed by the creation of a wireframe to ensure all content was presented in most effective way. Finally, we added motion graphics to illustrate the data and bring the story to life. The result was an interactive article that highlighted KONE’s research findings in a visually engaging format.
The results speak for themselves:
