The creative content studio from the Financial Times
For 20+ years, core Alpha Grid team members have been working with global corporations to maximise their World Economic Forum partnerships. Below are some of the ways we served our clients alongside the Annual Meeting in Davos, 2023
Alix Partners Pop-up Newsroom
Alix Partners wished to give their executive team a greater share of voice while attending Davos by producing and publishing a series of high-quality videos. They approached Alpha Grid to provide a professional solution which would free their on-the-ground communications team from time-consuming video duties.
In advance of the event, we created the graphic look for the videos, set expectations and offered tips and guidance on delivery. Over four days, we allocated an Alpha Grid film crew (made up of London based former TV journalist, and an editor/ camera operator) who shot a series of interviews with Alix Partner executives speaking to directly to camera about their thoughts on the key topics of the day and their impression of how the annual meeting was progressing. These videos were shot and edited on the same day and shared with great success on the individuals’ social media channels.
ManpowerGroup Ice Village Affiliate Event
As a strategic partner of the World Economic Forum, ManpowerGroup had booked to host an affiliate event in the Ice Village, which would be filmed by the WEF’s own AV team. ManpowerGroup asked Alpha Grid to develop the content for this panel discussion, which included designing the invitations and the still images for the big screen, conducting pre-interviews with the speakers, writing the script, moderating the discussion on stage, and creating highlight videos. We provided a dedicated, experienced TV anchor to work with ManpowerGroup during the pre-production stages to build a rapport with the speakers and bring her own ideas to the discussion. Using event footage shot by the WEF’s AV team, in addition to interviews we filmed ourselves after the panel discussion, we edited a 3-minute fast turnaround highlight video (within 24-hours) and series of 9 soundbites featuring the individual speakers (within 48-hours).
Agility Tandem Talks – Bespoke Event
Our long-time client, Agility, once again tasked Alpha Grid with creating a two-hour breakfast event, the Agility Tandem Talks, hosted on the first morning of the World Economic Forum, and now a firm fixture on the Davos off-programme calendar.
As a WEF strategic partner, Agility’s goal is to use the event to raise its profile as a pioneer in emerging markets by providing an inclusive, exciting and informative experience for global leaders. Year after year, the Agility Tandem Talks breakfast event is filled to capacity with approximately 80-100 attendees – mostly C-Suite and Business-Decision Makers. This innovative two-by-two format, devised especially for Agility, serves as a primer for the week, offering speakers a chance to provide deep dialogue and shape the Davos conversation right from the start. For the past few years, these talks have been moderated by award-winning UK television presenter Emma Crosby.
Working closely with Agility for three months in advance of Davos, Alpha Grid handled every aspect of this bespoke event, from the invitation design, attendee management, speaker recruitment, format development and script writing as well as the logistics including stage building, room dressing and menu selection. We also filmed the event and cut three highlight videos and numerous social media cut downs.
